MA’ TA’ – JUBILEE OF CULTURE CELEBRATION
ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL, MDINA

OCT 18TH 2025

DOORS OPEN 11:00
EVENT STARTS 11:30

_
“MA’ (with) TA’ (of)” is inspired by the Maltese word TAMA – hope. It reminds us that hope is
never solitary; it is something we build with others, something we carry as part of society.
Join us for an event of music, poetry, and shared voices in a collective celebration of hope
on the occasion of the Jubilee of Culture within the Year of Hope. This special gathering
invites the community to come together in a space where literature, music, and open mic
performances intertwine.
The event will offer a space for writers, musicians, and participants to share and witness
reflections on the universal sentiment of hope. It is a moment to connect, listen, and
contribute, whether through performance or simply presence, in an atmosphere that honours
togetherness.
As part of this initiative, we are seeking literary fragments of poetry or prose that explore the
universal sentiment of hope through an open call. Selected submissions will be read aloud,
published in print and distributed during the event. Our aim is to weave a tapestry of
personal experience and cultural confluence, highlighting voices from diverse backgrounds.
The chosen pieces will also be read aloud by an ensemble of artists during the event, not
directly by the authors. Anonymous submissions are welcome. The open call for
contributions is available here. The deadline for submissions is October 6th, 2025, at 11:59
PM.
Supported by APS Bank and The Mdina Metropolitan Chapter.
